Hola, Amiga!
As the days are getting warmer and brighter something beautiful happens on the inside – a sense of hope, joy and love blooms like a mystical lotus, bringing an inspiration and celebration (and to celebrate we are including a gift for you at the end of this letter, stay tuned)!
Happy Mother’s Day to all my dear amigas – mothers, care givers, mother figures, aunties and grandmothers! This is a wonderful opportunity, a reminder to slow down a little, to look back, to be grateful and show some extra love to those who helped us to become who we are today, who shaped us, who brought us up, who had our backs, who wiped our tears and who fought for us like lionesses.
It is time to celebrate those of us who may never held a baby of their own, or didn’t get to bring one home, but yet shared their light and love with those around; time to remember those already gone, those we have not met and those we yet to meet.
Life is so abundant of diversity, there is so many different roads and paths, valleys and deserts, and one thing that unites us all – we are here because of our mothers and we, regardless if we experienced the birth or not ourselves, have this enormously magical power to bring to life anything we touch.
We are creators of life!
Here at Aurobelle Ibiza we are all about the feminine, vibrant bursting with color essence of life. Since I have started this label, it all evolved around the motherhood and making memories – through travels, trough exploring, through taking a leap of faith, through risking in some instances, and throughnever giving up. This is the greatest gift I wish to share with my children, with my daughter – you, my beautiful child, can do anything you set your mind and heart on, you can cross the oceans and reach for the stars, and if you fall, my baby, its ok – it is just a part of the journey, not a destination. And if you fall again – I am here, I have your back.
I have got you, baby.
Let’s put our best dresses on and celebrate the motherhood – with the women and loved ones of our life, let’s cook the best meals, let’s laugh loads, let’s take plentiful of pictures and make ever lasting memories!
Visit our store (in Ibiza and online) for Mother’s Day outfit and gift ideas – new gorgeous, color popping pieces, handcrafted in India, using ancient time tested block printing techniques, ethically sources and lasting a life time – for mothers and daughters, for those memories at home, at the beach, in the parks and family gatherings – celebrate your feminine yet powerful beauty – no matter the number in the passport, no matter shape and size – beauty comes in never ending diversity of packages, and you are it – vibrant, elegant, bursting with life woman!

ABOUT ME & HOW AUROBELLE WAS CREATED
Aurobelle’s story started a long time ago, perhaps, way before I found India 25 years ago. And, you know, a true love story starts spontaneously, seemingly, by accident – I was a flight attendant back then and it happened so that I had a layover – and this is where the magic started. They say, one never returns the same from India: it is challenging, it is raw, it is chaotic, but yet so abundant of experiences, colours, scents, I don’t think there is anything more diverse than one day of life in India. And imagine a romance that lasts 25 years!
Just a year later I took a leap of faith and went back to India, for my spiritual quest this time. I spent a month backpacking in North of India, and here Buddhism found me. I discovered yoga, and yet once again - India was welcoming me in with all its gifts. The love story here between me and this incredible land took another turn and here I was, 2 years later, with my two beautiful daughters taking another leap of faith – we moved to Goa, where my girls attended a school and I opened my two shops – the Aurobelle’s pioneers.
I was so inspired by textiles and colours of South India while living in a community in Pondy Cherry – I created something very dear to me: mom and daughter dresses that embodied the experience of both – being a mother and love for slow travelling. These dresses were created out of the softest locally sourced muslin, hand-painted in ornaments of flowers – they were infused with the vibrancy of India and gentle love of a mother.
These dresses later made it back to Ibiza with me, it all started with hippie markets, and grew into wholesales in Holland and other European countries. In 2008, I opened my Aurobelle Ibiza shop and have been working and creating urban boho inspired fashion ever since. They say, if you put your heart into following your dream – the whole Universe starts to help out.
Aurobelle Ibiza is a slow fashion boutique, I take great pride in sourcing materials and ensuring ethical production of the garments. I have been working with a small number of artisans – families and a group of women – since the very beginning. In India, it is not common for a woman to have a job, and therefore this woman, when challenging situations arise, have no support and no solid foundation to make a change in their lives. Working with the same group of women not only provides a reliable job but also helps to boost their confidence and create a level of independence.
Each time I go to India - I get a chance to participate in manufacturing process myself – this is a gift of working with small local communities – you not only participate in creating a slow fashion brand but also get to form relationships with locals. I watch the mastery of block painting, dying the fabrics – creating something special, something that cannot be repeated. Aurobelle Ibiza is a haven not only for the trendsetters but also for those free spirits – gipsy souls, bohemian goddesses, environmentally conscious unique fashionistas.
Over the years Aurobelle has grown and branched out it's sourcing – we now have artisans working on our feminine fashion not only in India, but also in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Working with villagers rather than the large factories makes the fashion a lot more special, a lot more sustainable, a lot more inspiring and empowering. In our Ibiza boutique, you can easily sort out your outfit from head to toes: beautiful floral feminine dresses, handcrafted shawls, silk kurtas, kimono style dresses, bags, jewellery, fragrances - anything the bohème in you wishes for, behind every item – skilled craftsmanship, artisans with years of knowledge.
Here, at Aurobelle, we are all about the work and pleasure balance - I am a firm believer, that we have to take time to recharge, to reconnect with ourselves, so when I am not working on beautiful designs – you will find me hiking in stunning wild Ladakh, in a yoga retreat in Rishikesh or simply enjoying the beach.
The connection we make with our surroundings, with locals, with nature and with ourselves is vibrantly reflected in the essence of Aurobelle Ibiza – in the depth of the colour, in the feel of the texture, in the diversity of the designs – to suit a yoga lover, a bohemian girl, even a surf fashion enthusiast. It’s all about that Ibiza love, darlings! All about that freedom, all about making a bit of difference in the world, in style!
What is your inspiration in life and how to you achieve happiness and inner peace?
I would love to hear from you!

]]>Modern day Slow Fashion has seen some of these old ways come back into the picture. It encourages us to buy less garments at higher quality, made from more sustainable processes, less often. It also puts emphasis on the art of clothes making and celebrates the skills of the craftspeople who make them.
what is the difference ?
Woodblock printing on textiles is the process of printing patterns on textiles, usually of linen, cotton or silk, by means of incised wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing. There is evidence that it was practiced as early as the fifth century BC, with actual fragments found from as early as the fifteenth century in India, China and Japan.
The drawings are hand carved into rosewood blocks which are then used as stamps to transfer the prints on to the fabrics. It is necessary only to ink the block and bring it into firm and even contact with the cloth to achieve the desired print. For color printing, multiple blocks are used, each for one color.
Even though block printing by hand is an extremely slow process, it is capable of yielding highly artistic results, some of which unobtainable by any other method.
Working closely with a skilled team of printers in Rajasthan to collaboratively produce exclusive collections of hand-block printed fabrics, Aurobelle promotes a synergy between design, development and sustainability, inspiring good business practices and the continuing revitalization of traditional skills.
Why it is more sustainable ?
Sustainable fashion entails making things out of local, biodegradable fabric that can eventually return to the ecosystem after you have worn it out. Textile isn't wasted, chemicals are used in production, therefore reducing the pollution caused.
We at Aurobelle use only organic cotton as our grey fabric, mostly we choose plant based colour and dyes over chemical colour.
We work in with small communties and artisans and encourage woman empowerment with clean and happy work environment and fair wages .
We produce a small limited unique collection , keeping in harmony the flow of life, nature and our planet earth.
Thank you for supporting slow fashion .
MADE WITH LOVE
Everyday wellness is about taking care of yourself and feeling good, every day -- and every night. It doesn't just mean eating right and exercising. It also means finding small, simple ways to take care of ourselves and feel good about ourselves. And here's one of the simplest ways out there: Upgrade your pajamas.
Many of us are tired by the end of the day -- way too tired to care what clothes we choose to wear to bed. If we're lucky, we've managed to brush our teeth and wash off our makeup before we pass out on the pillow. But thinking about pajamas? Not so much.
Your bed is simply for sleeping and and having sex . It's not a place for eating dinner or sorting the day's mail or catching up on "Game of Thrones". Just because its uses should be limited doesn't mean the bed isn't important. And that's exactly why you might want to think about what you slip on before you slip in.
Feeling good on the inside sometimes comes from looking good on the outside. Wearing your old college sweatshirt to bed, your boyfriend's favorite T-shirt or yesterday's clothes doesn't necessarily do much for your self-esteem. And if you choose to sleep with someone else, getting into bed in these old, often too big and unflattering clothes does not do much to inspire romantic thoughts and behaviors.
Behavioral modification is powerful stuff. Good habits beget better habits, and confidence breeds confidence. The same holds true in the bedroom. Wearing something soft and comfortable can also be flattering and sexy. So even if you are too tired to contemplate snuggling with your partner, or if you're upset about those extra snacks you ate today, put all that aside. If you're going to go to the trouble of changing into sleep clothes anyway, is it really too much trouble to grab this cute or sexy outfit instead of that old and tattered one? No, it's not. It's the same amount of effort, for a lot more reward.
I challenge you to find something that you feel good in to wear to bed. I bet you'll feel better and sleep better (and we all need that). And if you're sharing your bed with a partner, I bet they'll appreciate it, too. Treat yourself to some nice, new Aurobelle P.J.s. You'll be glad you did.
It has been a difficult year 2020 for all of us. Here in Ibiza we were in a strict lock down from March until June . Nobody was allowed to go for walks to the ocean or meet friends . Well I am sure you also have been into lots of restrictions.
In the month of July we could finally open our shops and businesses again , and the short season of ibiza 2020 could start . It’s was amazing and we were so happy to see all the visitors, friends of the island and new comers . We had an amazing vibrant August , but than the rules changed and we where flagged red again , despite there has been very very few cases in the Island .
it’s sad because specially September and October are beautiful month to visit the island and enjoy a fantastic weather .
So now middle of October we at Aurobelle are closing our retail shops for the next six month . And the Isla will fall into its winter sleep and quietness .
Time to keep still and reflect what was the message the learning from 2020 we what we have to change . To be more humble, respect and safe our Mother Earth as it’s the only place we have and our last last chance to wake up and change our behaviour.
I wish you all a peaceful end of this turbulent year . Please keep connected and share your own story with me .
We are all one here at the Aurobelle Ibiza family and tribe .
Sending you lots lots of love 💓
