Somewhere in East Bengal, this kantha textile began as a wedding gift — hand-stitched by the women of a family, layer upon layer, into a blanket meant to last generations. Textiles like it are almost impossible to find anymore, each one carrying decades of quiet history in its stitches.
We've given this one a new life as a coat: oversized, easy to wear, and reversible, with a different print on the inside than the outside — two coats in one, really. The hand-quilted layers make it warm without being heavy, soft from years of use before it ever reached us.
Wear it over everything, on the evenings the wind picks up and you want something with a little history wrapped around your shoulders.
