Hawa Mahal — the Palace of Winds in Jaipur — lent its name to this dress for the way it lets the breeze move through it. Skilled artisans hand block print each length of muslin cotton with a turquoise and white floral motif, one panel at a time, so no two dresses print exactly alike.

The cut is easy and flattering: a soft V-neckline, feminine flared sleeves and a tie at the waist so you can shape it close or let it fall loose. Shell buttons run down the front, and side pockets mean you can leave the bag behind. At 130cm long, it skims the ankle.

Wear it to wander a market on a warm morning, or over a swimsuit as the sun climbs. Made in India in small quantities, for every size from petite to generous.
