The first of our Martha Kaftans, and still the one that best explains the whole idea: take a silk sari that's already lived a full life, and give it a second one. Nothing here is new for the sake of new — the silk has history in it, softened by years before it ever reached us.
It hangs loose and unstructured from a soft V-neckline, the long sleeves moving with you rather than against you. There's a lightness to worn-in silk that new fabric never quite has.
This is a kaftan for barefoot mornings at home, for wandering a market with nowhere to be, or for throwing over a swimsuit as the afternoon turns gold.
